THE GREAT WHEELIE BIN RACE

SATURDAY 17 MAY 2008
1230 – 1500 hrs

Woodhouse Moor (aka Hyde Park)


You could be talking rubbish and re-cycling your energy, whilst literary friends bargain for books. Make them go Green - with envy, or drag them along to join in the fun.

An event for all ages and abilities, to enhance community cohesion and get to grips with the bins that litter the area.

BIN DECORATING WORKSHOPS: Make your own Dalek; Tardis; Giant Planter; Chariot, Golden Owl… decorate it with team colours, go faster stripes, or whatever will speed you on your way.

BIN PARADE (before they get trashed in the race)
Prizes: for ‘Best Bin in Class’; ‘Most Rubbish Bin in Class’, etc…

RACE 1: Speed and Endurance. A relay race

RACE 2: Obstacle Race. Egg & Spoon , Slalom, Fences…

No heats or semi finals. First past the post get the prizes.
